Cregg began his financial services career over 20 years ago. After spending 11 years as a Financial Advisor with Smith Barney’s Private Client Group (Citigroup Global Markets Inc.), Cregg became an independent wealth advisor, on the belief that it would allow him to better serve the needs and goals of his clients without the many conflicts of interest present at large financial institutions.
Understanding that managing personal finances can be an overwhelming process for most people, Cregg works diligently to earn his clients trust and confidence by developing clear, simple and realistic financial plans and solutions. Through his vast experience, Cregg makes the complicated seem simple by focusing on educating his clients on all aspects of their financial affairs and guiding them toward financial decisions that can impact their lives in a positive way.
Cregg employs a holistic approach to financial planning by addressing all the major elements of financial concerns; insurance, investment, retirement income, estate/ legacy, education, and health care planning, household budgeting and tax strategies. Cregg’s process involves continuously monitoring his clients’ financial situation and making adjustments through the years; for Cregg, the planning process is not a static one-time event, but very much an interactive and proactive process. Cregg helps his clients keep their goals at the forefront of everything they do and develops financial strategies and solutions that can adapt to client’s changing needs and an ever changing economic environment.
Cregg devotes countless resources in examining both the macro risks that could impact a client’s financial situation, as well as those that might be specific to their family or business circumstances. From an investment management standpoint, this usually starts with a detailed evaluation of his client’s current portfolios. Many times, Cregg has found that clients do not realize the level of risk in their portfolios and/or whether it is a suitable for their unique goals. Cregg dedicates the time needed to educate clients on evaluating and managing risk through a qualitative and quantitative risk assessment specific to his clients’ needs and objectives.
Over the years Cregg has been involved in many community activities, including Coaching, Pony Baseball, YMCA, Exchange Club, Chamber of Commerce, and Community Players. You can always catch him performing with the Sound of Illinois Barbershop Chorus and quartet singing. He also enjoys riding his Victory motorcycle and taking care of his parrot and fresh water tropical fish as well as a Koi pond. Cregg is married to his wife Dana and has 2 children.
